Second Day at ASU.

Today was my second day at the University. It went way better than Tuesday
except for the simple fact that I had to, this time park my car in a Park N Ride
lot and take the light rail to campus. The light rail is a super fast shuttle
bus/subway thing designed to make travel easier and cheaper for all 69,000
of us students; plus any other citizens in the metro area who wish to ride.
I guess its' intentions are good, but to me it's a huge ordeal that i am simply
not accustomed to.

I did by far the most this morning. First, I had to wake up at 6:30am.
I left my house around 7:30 and made it to the Park N Ride lot around
8:15. I activated my pass, and boarded the light rail for the very first time.
I got off at my appropriate destination near my first class, or so I thought.
Turns out, this stop wasn't appropriate at all, nor was it near ANYTHING.
I had to trek 5 blocks in the 100 degree 8 am heat to finally get to my
Spanish class on time. Hot and sweaty--but there on time!

The rest of my day went pretty well. I had only four classes today, so I
got out of my last class a little before 4pm. NOW, back to this light rail
business, and then I can be stress free until
next Tuesday. I literally spent
all day studying the map of the light rail routes. I was more than determined!
There are only two light rail stations on campus, so I couldn't mess THIS up.
ONCE AGAIN WRONG! Murphy's Law I swear has it out for me. I am convinced,
because I certainly screwed up BIG this time. Instead of boarding the light rail
on campus. I some how ended up walking an extra two miles in the now
113 degree weather to a light rail boarding station just off campus.

Long story short, out of breathe I boarded the light rail with my paper thin
flip flops, sun burned arms, and my good for nothing empty water bottle.
I finally made it to my car around 4:45 pm and I made it home around
5:30 pm. Oh what a day!?

I definitely have to come up with a better system on how to survive this
whole AZ heat & ASU light rail business.. and quick! I am usually the positive
gal with little to no complaints, but lately I have been getting on my own nerves
with all the negative thoughts and energy. I am aware that bad things are bound
to occur.
My outlook on these bad situations is what's bothering me. I apologize
to everyone
who's had to put up with my bitching and moaning these past few days.
Better days to come God promises.

  1. As you already know, I have to comment every post you make because I get Emma withdrawls.

I'm happy your second day went better. Light Rails sound extra intimidating & scary. Sort of fun though.

Stay positive, I'm proud of you:)
